Doctor of Physical Therapy
Hi, I’m Ian Kelley, a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and founder of Vital Mobility Physical Therapy in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I earned my DPT from Western Michigan University in 2022 and specialize in orthopedics, spine rehabilitation, injury prevention, blood flow restriction training, functional dry needling, and manual therapy. I also integrate the McKenzie Method (MDT) and Functional Movement Systems (FMS) into my work to better assess and treat the root causes of pain and dysfunction.
I started this cash-based practice because I believe your care shouldn't be dictated by insurance companies. My mission is simple: to help people get out of pain, improve their mobility, and reach their goals—so they can live life fully and on their own terms.
My journey to physical therapy is personal. While serving in the military, I sustained several serious lumbar spine injuries that changed the course of my life. At one point, I couldn’t even bend down to tie my shoes. The care I received from dedicated physical therapists and a skilled sports medicine chiropractor inspired me to help others the way they helped me.
Patients often tell me that I truly listen, meet them where they’re at, and explain things in a way that makes sense. Whether you're recovering from injury or just trying to move and feel better, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Outside the clinic, I live in Kalamazoo with my wife, Analissa, and our son, Ronan. I enjoy CrossFit-style workouts, spending time outdoors with my family, and being involved in our local church community.
